June 2008 - New Digs! - We recently moved to new offices. Our new address is 800 Custer Ave, Suite 4, in Evanston. We were definitely feeling a little cramped in our old space. The new offices not only give us some space to grow, but they're right across the street from not one but two public transportation train stations: the Metra and famous Chicago "El". Getting here is now a breeze. Plus, with gasoline prices out of sight, it's nice to have some alternatives. Larmee Associates welcomes its newest associate: Mike Rechenthin. Mike has a background in trading and is currently pursuing a Masters in Computer Science at Loyola University. With his background and desire, he's already hit the ground running! He'll be helping us with programming and technical documentation as well as expertise in what makes the markets tick. Next time you call, say hi to Mike! March 2008 - 2008 is off to a roaring start! February was the best month in our company's history. Not bad for the shortest month of the year! Thanks to all of you for your continued business and support. One of our clients, Peak Trading Group, recently introduced a new software package Peak Trader Pro at the New York Traders Expo in February. We understand that folks were lined up five deep at their booth to get a better look at the product and to understand the trading strategies that accompany the software. We're glad that we could help Peak Trading bring this product to the market place. See www.peak-trading.com for more information. Larmee Associates welcomes its newest associate: Paul Molenda. Paul is currently pursuing a Masters in Computer Science at Loyola University and brings a wealth of knowledge to our company. He'll be helping us with programming, quality assurance and technical documentation. Next time you call, say hi to Paul! November 2007 - Happy Holidays to all of our clients and friends! Although it's not quite over yet, 2007 is already our most successful year ever. This time of year always causes us to reflect back over the entire year and all of the new friends we have met. With Thanksgiving so recently behind us, we are truly thankful for all of our blessings and especially the blessing of being able to work with wonderful clients, suppliers and employees. The custom software business is about relationships. The better we understand your requirements, the better the final product will be. In this business, arrogance is the only unforgivable sin. I guess we must be doing something right, because you, our clients and friends, keep coming back time after time. And, that's why our practice keeps growing. Here's wishing you a joyous holiday season and a most prosperous 2008. Summer 2007 - One of the questions we often are asked is about out-sourcing. People seem to assume that since we're in the programming business, we must send out the programming work to India or other off-shore locations. The fact is we don't and we never have. Not that we don't think there are a lot of talented programmers off-shore. Sure, there are. But programming is our core business. It's what we do. And, we want to be sure that it's done right and that we understand every bit of the code -- just in case questions or problems arise later. Who knows? If we continue to grow as we have, some day we may go outside for bookkeeping or HR or custodial services or whatever. But, the one thing we will never outsource is programming. It's what we do.
